Info in Norwegian coming very soon…

This page is for information related to NORWAY (NORGE) specifically.

The situation now:
Designated blood donations are usually not done in Norwegian hospitals – there is no free choice of the donor blood. And please note, as clearly stated on our home page at the bottom and below here: There is no place yet in Norway where you can donate uncontaminated blood which is then labeled as such, and there is NO clinic which will allow you to bring your own blood or any other donor of your choice. 10 years ago, yes. Now? Not possible anymore. This is what we go against.

What WE do:
Our acting plans:
We are in the process of setting up a team for Norway, which will try to find the most feasible way to reach our goal, the free choice of blood (and blood donor). This will happen though finding medical partners (hospitals, laboratory chains, private practices etc.), and most importantly, by trying to reduce the need for transfusions in general with clear advises for medical staff in our members’ living will.
If we can not find suitable partners, we will have to set up our own chain of places to donate and store blood (blood bank). This makes, however, only sense once we have medical partners allowing the free choice of blood donor.
We will translate the website to Norwegian soon, in order to tear down the language barrier.
The domain safeblood.no will soon be up and running, with individual direct contacts to the team.
A telegram channel for easy information will complement this page here.

What YOU can do:
If you want to join us and help within the team, please contact us.

Spread the word, and most importantly, become a member – because only together we are strong.

Please note that there are NO blood donation stations set up yet, nowhere in Norway, as we need medical partners for this purpose first. This will take some time. Check back here frequently and subscribe to our newsletter.

If you need blood NOW, because you have a scheduled surgery coming up, the closest option for Norwegians is to go to the US or Africa (means – very far away…), where many hospitals allow the free choice of blood donor. Go and do your surgery there, and don’t forget to tell the local hospitals – they don’t like to see money swimming away to the US or Africa ;-)

CONTACTS:
Soon you will find here the contact details of our team members. Check back frequently.

Updates and NEWS:
Will be individual posts below – the most important news will be updated here regularly.

Last remark: You want to know whether we have a matching blood donor in your area? become a member and search for it here. As a member you are able to search by blood group AND location.

We have had good experience with this method, especially in Italy. We know that nothing works without pressure if we want to avoid mRNA-contaminated transfusion. So the following procedure is…
